Focus on the outcome. Not the obstacle

So many dreams are killed even before a single action is taken. Because many of us immediately think about the difficulties that will come in the journey and do not take any action. This approach is flawed and needs to be addressed.

A journey to excellence always starts with a big dream. However, immediately after the big dream comes action, not challenges. If mountaineers think about the steep climb, they will stop right there before even starting. World-class mountaineers aspire to conquer the summit and take action to prepare for the journey. They understand the challenges, find ways to resolve them, progress, and eventually become successful.

“I have been seriously afraid at times but have used my fear as a stimulating factor rather than allowing it to paralyze me. My abilities have not been outstanding, but I have had sufficient strength and determination to meet my challenges and have usually managed to succeed with them.” ― Edmund Hillary, View from the Summit: The Remarkable Memoir by the First Person to Conquer Everest

Successful people think with a bias for action, and this approach puts them ahead of “not so successful” people who think about the obstacles first. So start your journey to excellence with action, not the roadblocks. Obstacles will eventually come and get resolved as you will be better prepared for them along the journey.

😩 Wrong Approach: Dream Big -> Think Obstacle -> Stop
😃 Right Approach: Dream Big -> Take Massive Action -> Excellence
